Leading real estate agency renews commitment to Food for Thought
Food for Thought is pleased to announce that TCI’s largest brokerage, Turks & Caicos Sotheby’s International Realty, has signed on for its second year as a Partner Sponsor – donating $12,000 which will support the charity’s Breakfast Programme.
The programme, which provides a healthy breakfast every school day to all students at the government primary schools in North, Middle and South Caicos and Salt Cay, recently completed its first successful year with teachers reporting increased concentration and improved attendance in their classes.
The cost of the Breakfast Programme is approximately $200 per student per year. With approximately 300 students taking part, Sotheby’s is contributing one fifth of the charity’s annual budget allocated to the Breakfast Programme.
Joe Zahm, President of Turks & Caicos Sotheby’s said, “We are so very happy to renew our sponsorship with Food for Thought and congratulate Jeanne and Karen for exceeding expectations with regard to this amazing programme”.
The organisation’s co-founders Karen and Jeanne Savory wish to express their immense gratitude to the Sotheby’s team, who have been strong supporters of Food for Thought since it began in 2016. We are very proud of this partnership and are delighted that Sotheby’s is getting behind us for the upcoming year.
In September Food for Thought will be expanding its reach by placing Breakfast Boxes of non-perishable breakfast items (instant porridge, cereal bars etc.) into each of the 10 government schools that aren’t yet included in the Breakfast Programme. These boxes will enable children most in need of something to eat to discretely stop by the guidance counsellor’s office to get some breakfast. Visit our website for more details foodforthoughttci.com
