Food for Thought is pleased to announce its first Partner Sponsor

Food for Thought is pleased to announce its first Partner Sponsor – Turks & Caicos Sotheby’s International? Realty. The powerhouse brokerage is generously donating $12, 000 per year towards our breakfast programme.

Joe Zahm, President of Sothebys said, We are proud to be in a position to help this inspired cause and look forward to a longstanding relationship with Food for Thought.

The programme, which began with the new school year at the beginning of September, provides breakfast every school day to all students at the government primary schools in North, Middle and South Caicos and Salt Cay.

The cost of this programme is approximately $200 per student per year. With approximately 300 students involved this year, Sotheby’s is contributing one fifth of the charity’s annual budget.

Karen and Jeanne Savory, who founded Food for Thought in early 2016, said “We are truly grateful to have the Sotheby’s team on board. Their support for our cause, since our very first event, is very much appreciated. We are proud that the charity’s work has gained the confidence of one of the country’s leading real estate firms.

“Thanks in large part to this substantial donation from Sotheby’s we are happy to report that we have now secured funds enough for the programme to continue into the 2017/2018 school year. If the TCI community continues to provide its kind support we will be able to expand our breakfast programme to the government primary schools in Grand Turk and Provo earlier than anticipated.”

Particular thanks go to Joe Zahm, Nina Ziegenthaler and Richard Sankar for their support.
