It was all smiles on South Caicos this past weekend as Food For Thought hosted a back to school party for all South Caicos students. Bouncy castles, barbequed food, delicious treats and lively music made for a fun day that surely got the students excited for their return to school!

DJ Lightbourne kept the South Caicos Sports Centre bumping from 11am – 3pm, while Kody Seymour and Atiba Grant from Sailrock Resort served up hundreds of burgers and hotdogs! Popcorn and snow cone machines, and two large bouncy castles, from Woohoo! and face painting by Khye’s Body Art kept the kids happy for hours.

Food For Thought organised the event in partnership with generous local sponsor Sailrock Development with the aim of connecting with parents, thanking volunteers and treating the kids. The students made it through a tough school year last year, and are still severely affected by the destruction caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. They deserved a day of fun, and that is definitely what they got!
The charity’s co-founders Jeanne and Karen Savory wish to thank Sailrock for their ongoing support of Food for Thought. “Sailrock is a great example of a community spirited company – they are consistently contributing to their own South Caicos community.  In addition to sponsoring our party we understand that they also recently donated 300 high quality lunch box sets to the students of South Caicos to help start the new school year right.
We are particularly grateful to Matt, Keno, and Stacie Ann from Sailrock for all their help in making the Back to School Party such a success.

We would also like to thank our new Operations and Marketing Manager Tara, and the wonderful volunteers who ensured the event ran smoothly. We are thankful to Mr Camiko Lewis for allowing us use of the Sports Complex and his assistance on the day.”

The Food for Thought team is doing it all again this weekend as they head to Horse Stable Beach for the North and Middle Caicos Back to School Party!
